Painted 11 walls on 3 floors and an exterior at Kelly Miller Middle School. The Project origins are with Kelly Miller Middle School. Originally brought in by Meredith Flanagan over at @GenslerDC to do a new cafeteria project pro-bono at KMMS. From there I meet Loren Robinson (DCPS/ @dcpsconnectedschools @cs_kellymillerms and Principal Dr. Cox. We worked with all the Grade level AP’s (assistant principals) to develop and distill ideas for each floor. Treating it like a “Brand” and not just a school meant there were ideas for secondary and tertiary uses for artwork the school could use for future applications as needed such as pencils, backpacks, and tee shirts.
Also had the pleasure to design and paint with Kathrine Campagna @nokittenheels and Edwin Merino @imdabes202 on the 7th grade and 8th grade walls respectively. Also Special thanks also to Mr. Holmes, Mr. Ford, and Mr. Washington for the logistics help and for making things move.
